Mango Halwa

Make the simple and delicious Kesar Mango Halwa at home!

Ingredients

1 large size Kesar Mango
1 pinch Cardamom Powder
1 pinch Saffron
2 tablespoons Sugar
1.5 cups Rawa
2 tablespoons Ghee
4 Cups water
Cashews and Raisin as per need

Preparation

  1. Smoothly blend Mango, Saffron, Cardamom powder and Sugar, and keep it aside in a bowl for some time.
  2. Take a pan and dry roast Rava on a medium low flame until you get the aroma. Transfer it to a bowl.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in the same pan. Add Cashews and Raisin and fry lightly. Put them aside.
  4. Pour water in the same pan and let it boil. Slowly add roasted Rawa and keep stirring at avoid lumps.
  5. Once mixed properly, cover the pan and let it cook until the water evaporates.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon Ghee and mix well.
  7. Add the blended puree, mix it well with Rawa, and let it cook for 10-12 minutes on a medium low flame.
  8. Stir occasionally.
  9. Turn off the stove and cover the cooked halwa for 15 minutes to let the flavour set.
  10. Garnish the halwa with Cashews and Raisins and serve hot.
